"Thank You, Raila Odinga" ODM Speaks Out After Petrol, Diesel Prices Go Down

"Thank You, Raila Odinga" those are the statement from the Orange Democratic Movement via their Communications Director after a reduction in the prices of Petrol, Diesel, and Kerosene.

On Thursday, the Energy, Petroleum Regulatory Authority Committee has announced a reduction in the hiked the prices of fuel after a call out from leaders and Kenyans.

According to their release, they have informed that"per Section 101(y) of the Petroleum Act 2019, Legal Notice No.196 of 2010 and Legal Notice No. 26 of 2012, @EPRA_Ke has calculated the maximum retail prices of petroleum products, which will be in force from 15th October 2021 to 14th November 2021."

"Super Petrol and Diesel decrease by Kshs 5.00 per litre while that of Kerosene decreases by Kshs 7.28 per litre and will now retail at Kshs. 129.72, Kshs. 110.60 and Kshs. 103.54 per litre respectively in Nairobi starting today midnight," they have added.

After the move by EPRA, the ODM Communications Director has penned a congratulations message to Raila Odinga for his intervention where he had promised Kenyans that he will make sure the prices go down.

"Thank you Raila Odinga for pushing for the decreasing of fuel prices. Kenyans were hurting. Wanjiku was suffering. Today’s announcement by EPPRA confirms your earlier announcement that fuel prices would soon be reduced. You have done Kenyans proud & they are happy for you," ODM Communications Director Philip Etale has said.
