It could be a blow to President William Samoei Arap Ruto after it is emerging that Hustler Fund, the Head of State promised to roll out in December, 1st is not anchored in the law.
This follows former Treasury CS Ukur Yatani who advised the Government to bring the Hustler Fund under the wings of the Biashara Fund will ease the basing of the Hustler Fund in law.
According to Ukur Yatani, this is the only way the Government will succeed. Ukur further added that this is how the previous Administration amalgamated the Youth Development Fund, the Women Fund and the Uwezo Fund and called it the Biashara Fund to target SMEs.
According to Ukur Yatani, the Government has two ways to actualize the fund either to go to Parliamnet to pass laws supporting the Fund or remodel it into Biashara fund.
The proposed Hustler Fund seeks to disburse at least Ksh.50 billion to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) every year at single-digit rates.
Hustler Fund closely aligns with the Biashara Fund whose regulations were published in 2021.
