Kenya Revenue Authority And NMS Announces Waiver of Penalties, Interests On Land Rates

The Kenya Revenue Authority announced that taxpayers will now get full or partial relief on penalties and interest on the undisclosed taxes. KRA said that the programme is part of providing relief to taxpayers, due to the hardships brought about by the Covid 19 pandemic.

The type of relief a taxpayer get will, however, depend on how soon they pay, with the first ones most favoured.

The Nairobi County Government has offered a 100 waiver of penalties and interest on land rates arrears paid in full between 1st October to 30th November, 2021. This waiver is contained in the Gazette Notice of 17 September 2021.

"We urge all property owners and bankers holding interests in charged property to confirm that all payments of rates of their properties are up to date. If they are not, we advise you to take advantage of these waiver." The Notice.
