Nairobi Landlords In Trouble As President Ruto Launches A Project That Will Lower Cost Of Rent.

Nairobi County landlords especially those in Mukuru have landed in Troy as President William Ruto has launched a project that will soon lower the cost of rent.

The President has lamented about landlords in Mukuru having tenants who are forced to pay more for water, electricity and even paying for the toilets they use.

"Mukuru here has 110,000 households on about 700 acres and the story of Mukuru is a story that needs to be written because Mukuru is the only place you pay to go to the toilet. You pay 170% for water that others are paying in Karen and Lavington. You pay more for electricity than in any other part of Nairobi," said President Ruto.

As a sigh of relief to Kenyans in Nairobi, President Ruto's government will build affordable houses where tenants will pay monthly dues as mortgage which means they will be able to own these houses after a specific period of time.

"The first priority of this project is to get the people living in Mukuru to come and live here. The three thousand shillings they're paying rent there, they'll come and pay three thousand here mortgage," added President Ruto.
