The Kenyan government has finally handed over cash and gold to the Tanzanian government which was seized by the police pending investigations. This handing over was presided by DPP Noordin Haji, AG Justice Kihara Kariuki and the foreign affair cabinet secretary Monica Jima. The gold and cash was seized in 2017 by the Kenyan police and it was finally handed over to the then Tanzanian DPP, Mr Biswalo Mghanga.
The office of the director of public prosecution has further revealed that Kenya with East Africa prosecutors in this case. This led to the successful extradition to Tanzania of Baraka Chaulo. They managed to recover illegal assets that surrendered by this criminal enterprise. A lot of money was seized amounting to Kshs 351 million in different currencies and 35kgs of gold worth Ksh 2 billion.
Kenyans have been happy with how Noordin Haji has performed in office. The good relationship between Kenya and Tanzania has been growing well since President Samia Suluhu got into office. The two countries are determined to work together and boost their growth in all sectors.
