One of the Kenya's leading financial institutions Equity Bank, has announced the re-introduction of the Bank to mobile transfer Charges following the announcement by the Central Bank of Kenya.
In an email sent to clients by the financial institution, all transactions will be charged from the 1st day of January 2023. The bank released the new charges as shown in the email attached. Only those sending money below 100 will not be charged. The Highest charge will be 65 which will be charged on clients transferring between 20,000 to the maximum of 150,000.
The bank however clarified that the charges do not include government taxes.

The Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) reintroduced the charges which had been waived on March 16 2020 following the emergence of the deadly Covid-19 which limited the physical interactions, the online transactions were also important in limiting the spread of the virus.
