Nakuru county have said Nakuru Free Area Market will soon actualize the conversion of waste to energy.They said it is through the actualization of the wet concept that has seen the market benefit from additional units including a waste grading zone.
The county said other extensions include two fresh produce units,a watering point,Fish market section and a drainage system.They said the extension is through a partnership with Micro Enterprise Support Program Trust (MESPT) under the AgriFi program.
The county hosted Danish Embassy Program Officer Mr.Charles Wasike and MESPT CEO Ms.Rebecca Amukhoye led by agriculture CECM Dr.Immaculate Maina during a monitoring and evaluation exercise by the team.Ms Amukhoye said that the completion of the wet market extension will attract potential stakeholdersbto look into the expansion of the market and other markets in the Nakuru County.They said Nakuru county is piloting the wet market,concept market upgrade a six month project currently 55 percent complete.
