CS Linturi inspect ground for construction of 500M tea factory in Bungoma, speaker Wetangula present

National Government in partnership with Bungoma county government is set to put up a multimillion tea factory at Kaberwa, Mount Elgon Constituency in Bungoma county.

Today agriculture, fisheries and livestock cabinet secretary Mithika Linturi made a reconnaissance visit in the proposed tea factory ground in Bungoma county.

" We are partnering with the national government to set up a multimillion tea factory in Kaberwa, Mount Elgon Constituency. Today I hosted agriculture and livestock development cabinet secretary Mithika Linturi who toured Kaberwa and Kopsiro areas on a reconnaissance visit" posted Bungoma governor Kenneth Lusaka on his official Facebook page.

Governor Kenneth Lusaka who hosted the cabinet secretary disclosed that the tea factory will cost taxpayers five hundred million. He also pledged that his county administration will provide more seedlings to farmers.

" The factory is approximated to cost the national government Sh 500 million while the count will ensure that farmers have enough tree seedlings" added governor Lusaka.

The event was also attended by national assembly speaker Moses Wetangula who hails from the county and several members of parliament led by Kabuchai legislator Majimbo Kalasinga.
