The country was left talking after Africa's Richest Man Aliko Dangote was seen in Kenya during President Ruto's inauguration. The Nigerian billionaire was pictured at the Statehouse together with his wife.
A report by a local daily has revealed the key interests that Dangote has which could have brought him to Kenya. According to the report, Dangote has a working license to open two cement plants in Mombasa and Nairobi.
Each plant is expected to produce at least 1.5M tonnes of cement per year making it the second highest cement producer behind Bamburi. The plan comes at a good time as president Ruto plans to build 250000 new housing units every year to provide affordable housing.
The Nigerian billionaire is also interested in fertilizer production. His fertilizer plant in Nigeria is currently the biggest in Africa and there are plans to build another plant in Kenya. This will go a long way in reducing the price of fertilizer and allow Agriculture products to increase.
