Ruto was shown love in Laikipia County today during his visit since people turned up in large numbers to listen to him. He was accompanied by other leaders such as Turkana governor Nanok to popularise his party and make people aware of his bottom-up economy model.
In his speech, he talked about how he is aiming at ensuring youths are employed and people who own small businesses are given capital to boost themselves.
He also talked about the government's achievements such as building roads, technical training colleges and fixing electricity. He asked for support from people to enable him build the nation by voting for him next year.
DP Ruto revealed that there are people who have been spreading rumours that he owns fifteen thousand acres of land in Laikipia County. He therefore ordered those people to give that land to Laikipia farmers so that they can have space for grazing their livestock.
"Watu walitangaza juzi kwamba William Ruto ako na shamba hapa hekari elfu kumi na tano. Nimetoa idhini wananchi wapatiwe hiyo shamba wachunge ng'ombe zao."
The crowd was so happy and excitedly started chanting UDA and DP's name. That land will help them settle conflicts between crop farmers and those who rare livestock.
