No More Loans? Ruto Reveals Condition on Future Borrowing Amid Plan to Clear Debt

The State House Spokesperson, Executive Office of the President Hussein Mohamed, has shared the sentiments of President William Ruto and the plan he has in reviving the Country's fragile economy.

According to President Ruto, Kenya is not going to borrow further, adding that, they will only borrow if there is need and plan so that the money can be well budgeted for without waste.

"The people of Kenya of Kenya can be assured that our country will not default on our obligations. We have applied brakes on any more borrowing. Our borrowing will be limited to only what we must borrow," said President Ruto.

President Ruto promised Kenyans that, they should trust his government, poking holes the previous government for allegedly misusing the public Funds and overseing death projects, he noted never full filed the due reason behind their establishment.

On Standard Guage Railway (SGR) President said it was captured by different people under the leadership of the Former President Uhuru Kenyatta and his administration.

Ruto said that, SGR did not do what it had been budgeted to do for the people and economy of Kenya. He said that, Kenyans trusted him to lead them in the next five years and he will ensure that the SGR pays off and pay for itself the outstanding debt.

"The only problem that SGR ran into is that was captured by a few people. It was allowed to do what it was supposed to. It is in my plan to ensure SGR pays for itself," said President Ruto.

The Head of state revealed his plans of collecting a tune of Ksh. 1 Trillion shillings within the next 24 months in his plan to pay off the external debts.
