TZ Hustlers Given Free Motorcycles For Bodaboda

As the government of Kenya continues with their latest move of empowering hustlers with loans from the Hustler Fund, the Tanzanian government has popped up with a similar empowering venture.

The government of President William Ruto last month launched the hustler fund, which saw more than 1 million Kenyans get loans in less than 12 hours after the fund was launched.

Most Kenyans who received the money from the hustler fund reported that they were only able to qualify for a loan of Sh500.

On Friday, the government of Tanzanian also pulled out a similar empowerment move, which saw dozens of youths receive free motorcycles.

The youths were given motorcycles for them to venture into the lucrative bodaboda business.

"Vijana tumewapatia pikipiki hizi hakikisheni mnazitumia kujiingizia kipato kama ilivyokusudiwa. Tayari mna leseni na Pikipiki na bajaji hizi zimekatiwa bima kubwa. Msitumike na wahalifu na fuateni sheria za usalama barabaran," said Shinyanga Regional Commissioner Dr Good Sophia, which loosely translates to

(Young people, we have given you these motorcycles, make sure you use them to earn income as intended. You already have licenses and these motorcycles and tuk-tuks are already insured. Don't use them for criminals activities and follow the road safety rules)
