The revolving fund will enable Miraa farmers to borrow, at 3% interest. I encouraged the farmers to endeavour to make their savings through their established saccos.
I also advised parents on the governments directive to ensure children are going to school and shouldn't be engaging in miraa business at the expense of their studies.
In addition, I encouraged women and youth to access these finances and improve their livelihoods through miraa farming.
Farmers were excited about the miraa safety study being done by Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organisation (KALRO) and Pest Control Products Board (PCPB). This will help in getting external markets for the farmers upon using the right production inputs example pesticides.
