Kisii Deputy Governor Joah Maangi has today delivered the Ksh. 600,000 donated by Deputy President Dr. William to support in repairing the Suneka Market borehole.
Before it broke down, the vandalized borehole has been a water source depended on by thousands of traders running their daily businesses in the busy market.
Speaking at a closed-door meeting with the Market leadership, Ruto's point man from Gusii Maangi said this is part of the empowerment program that was started by Ruto when he made a stopover at the market on Sunday.
"Today I have met with the leadership of Suneka Market to deliberate on the empowerment program started by Deputy President Dr. William Ruto. The Ksh 600,000 which I have delivered will go along away in reviving the dead borehole which has been providing water to many traders here. We will do more in Kisii," He said.
Maangi further said Ruto's support in Gusii is unwaved and Raila's long-term ground has shifted.
The market leaders in return thanked the Deputy President for his generous donation towards the repair of the borehole.
On Sunday Ruto made a stopover at Suneka as he was heading to Kisii Town from South Mugiurango a rally that was marred with chaos. Several youths were injured as rogue ODM supporters who were chanting Raila engaged UDA supporters. They confronted each other with stones and clubs.
Present who accompanied Maangi were UDA's National Treasure Omingo Magara, Hon. Teresa Oroo, Hon. Rachael Otundo and UDA youth leader from the region Hon. Darius Mosoti.
