Kenyans have been complaining about the high prices of food commodities being experienced currently within the nation. From Cooking Oil, Sugar, salt, and maize flour. Cabinet secretary for Agriculture Peter Munya condoned with Kenyans promising a fall in food commodities, especially Maize Flour which is currently being retailed at a price of between 200 Kenya shillings to 210Ksh.
Today Kenyans have woken up to some relief news perhaps, after Unga Price is expected to drop by only 2ksh. Cs Minya had instructed all the levies on the Maize price to be suspended so that Kenyans can enjoy, a sigh of relief in the price.
According to Unga Millers association chairman Mr.Nyaga if all the levies imposed on Maize flour in Kenya could be scraped off then this will have a small impact in terms of the price fall. Mr nyaga has advised the government to have direct talks with Zambia and Tanzanian countries, to directly cut off the Export Levies, as this will have a significant impact on the price of maize in Kenya.
Kenyans online have mocked Cs Munya for what they termed as "Imposing a 2ksh joke" to Kenyans. The Net citizens have requested the Cs to establish concrete measures so as the price of maize can decrease.
