However for many, they opt to choose quite serene locations to live in once they retire from their daily activities away from the ever busy Nairobi County. Below are some of the towns that tycoons are seeking refuge other than Nairobi and it's environs;

Kilifi County has been attracting many homeowners thanks to the luxurious homes that have been built in Vipingo which are surrounded by golf and leisure activities, which make it more suitable to the tycoons.

Before his death this year, Chris Kirubi had already purchased a villa in Kilifi worth millions. Joshua Kulei, the Kenyan billionaire who acted as the long term personal secretary of President Moi also has a home in Kilifi
Nakuru has also been viewed as a quite town whereby the super rich have been flooding. A good example is former Chief Justice David Maraga who retired as the head of the Judiciary earlier this year.
Maraga made it clear that his retirement home will be in Nakuru where he had practiced law for 25 years. Ex President Moi also chose Kabarak in Nakuru County as his retirement home.
Many local billionaires have also handpicked Malindi as their retirement homes. A good example was Kenneth Matiba who was staying in his Malindi home before he met his death.
Malindi also has Billionaires Resort which is the retirement home of former Formula One star Flavio Briatoire.
