Kenyan Company Builds 3 Boats For Tanzania

A Mombasa company Southern Engineering Company Limited (SECO) is setting the pace for the region and is set to deliver three pilot boats ordered by the Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA).

SECO last year delivered two cargo vessels with a capacity of 2,000 tonnes to TPA.

The firm also delivered four vessels ordered by Uganda including MV Albert Nile 1 (a RoRo ferry for passengers and vehicles in use on Lake Albert) and three passenger ferries MV Bisina, MV Obongi and MV Laropi plying the Okokorio and Agule route, the Sinyanya Channel and Umi route respectively.

By this development kenya shows a good move in improvement of manufacturing industries.

He further added that all ships drifting outside port limits should maintain not less than 15 nautical miles from the nearest point of land and keep crew and engines on standby.

The public has also since been urged to beware of dangers associated with strong winds, heavy rains and floods.
