Nairobi has beaten big African cities such as Johannesburg, Cape Town, Cairo and Lagos. In fact the city beat about 500 cities in the continent. Nairobi's top performance has resulted due to her numerous number of start ups, high level of innovation funding and good innovation infrastructures such as research institutions. In addition, in Nairobi there is ease to do business compared to other cities.
In fact according to world economic forum back in 2019, Nairobi was ranked 6th most dynamic city in the world. Other cities that closely followed Nairobi in terms of innovation according to Knight Frank Horizons report are Cape Town, Kampala, Cairo, Johannesburg, Dar es Salaam, Lagos among others.
