Moses Kuria Reveals Number Of Million Bags Of GMO Foods That Will Be Ferried Into The Country

When asked how much maize the government needs, Hon. Moses Kuria, cabinet secretary for Trade, was very specific, 15 million bags.

He argues that the current country is aiming for the proof of 2kg unga to be at sh120 as the subsidy of fertilizer persists, which would justify the importation of maize.

North Rift farmers had opposed the government's decision to import maize, althought they now have a surplus.

The senator's assertion was followed by accusations from certain legislators in western Kenya that the government is intentionally trying to make life difficult for farmers.

If the maize importation goes on while the cabinet secretary is in charge, they have called for his removal.

The Kenyan government has pledged to bring down the cost of staples like unga.

The political spectrum has been debating whether or not to allow the importation of maize. By that time, Mombasa had already received a shipment of corn from Mozambique.
