Equity Bank Limited has finally broken its silence over today's attack on its Nairobi West Branch.

On Tuesday, October 11, an armed person tried to access Equity Bank hall in Nairobi West.
His efforts were however countered by security personnel and detectives are currently investigating into the issue.
Equity's response to the incident
Responding to the incident, the Bank admitted that indeed there was an attack today morning. They announced that the attempt by the armed man to gain access to the bank's hall was intercepted by security personnel.

"Dear member, kindly note that we had a distress incident today morning at our Nairobi West Branch where an armed person attempted to gain access into the banking hall," said the Bank.
The bank announced temporal closure of the branch pending investigations.
"Security agents led by local authorities are currently on site investigating the incident and the branch has been temporarily closed," the Bank added.
The bank members can however access services in other branches or via mobile banking.
