Kenyan government through the office of its spokesperson have just addressed youths in Nakuru county. It is during this time that the spokesperson Col. Cyrus Oguna challenged the youths, particularly the unemployed to take advantage of the available youth empowerment programs to benefit themselves.
He also noted with concerns that the youths are not taking this efforts of the government serious. The programs are meant to offer funding and support for their start-ups. This, according to spokesperson, is in line with the 2030 vision of transforming Kenya into industrialised state with high quality life.
They government disclose the alleged programs which majority of the youths might not be aware of. On top of list is the Ajira programs which entails working online and at the same time get paid for that.
There is also Uwezo fund programs that enables the youths to get access to loans to either boost or start their business. This is the most accessible programs as the youths are just required to groups of 10 then forward their names to administrative authorities such as chiefs for consideration.
Also not left out is the popular 'Kazi mtaani'. This is where youths clean trenches and roads and get their dues after every two weeks of service. It has been a great to many.
Cases of unemployment will now be wiped out completely if the youths take the above programs with utmost seriousness. Youths are also encouraged not be choosy but instead take any available opportunity that comes their way.
