His name is Samuel Owino Wakiaga. He was born in Rusinga island in Homabay county in the year 1960. He holds a diploma in accountancy from Technical University of Kenya, bachelor's degree in the same field from India and masters in National Security Policy from Australia National university.
Sam is one of the richest billionaires in Nyanza region. He worked as a deputy director in charge of economic affairs in the National Intelligence Security service in the country. He owns multibillion real estate properties in Kisumu, Nairobi, Mombasa and Homabay counties.
He also owns several ferries that operate on Mbita-Luanda Kotieno route as a link up between Siaya and Homabay along the shores of Lake Victoria. Wakiaga is also a philanthropist who has helped fund ODM campaigns for his preffered party candidates. He has given to the society by establishing Sam Wakiaga Youth Polytechnich to help underprivileged youths to gain skills and knowledge through the institution.
