May 1st every year is international labour day celebrations. The world celebrates all degrees of workers. This starts from Farmers to the presidents who dedicate their time to work.
Today's celebrations in Kenya are likely to be led by the president. His excellency Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta will be accompanied by the Labour cabinet secretary. The trade unions leaders will also attend the Celebrations.
However, those celebrations will be virtual meaning a limited number of members will allowed to attend.
These celebrations have come at a time when the economy is so down. The pandemic has real destroyed the economy completely.on 29th March 2021, the president locked down five counties. These counties were perceived to be disease infested zones. He also closed schools and other Institutions which help in economy development.
In his speech he is expected to discuss more on the measures out in place to improve the economy. Workers who have lost jobs are also in dillemma. They don't know what will happen next.
We hope his speech comes with goodies for the public. Thanks.
