This is good news for Kenyan business owners who can now expand their operations. Additionally, those looking to start new businesses will now have access to capital, which has always been difficult for many.

However, the Cabinet Secretary noted that lots of information regarding the loan will be made public during and after its formal introduction.

President William Ruto's agenda includes uplifting those who run small businesses. During his campaigns, the president emphasized the bottom-up economic model, which targets those in this industry. Those targeted include vegetable vendors, or "Mama Mboga," those who operate Boda Bodas that provide motorcycle transportation, those who engage in hawking, and those who run salons and barbershops, among other small business owners.
