Kabando Wa Kabando's statement regarding Uhuru's bank cartel and the tax arrears they have yet to pay have caused quite a stir in the public and within Ruto's regime.
In light of these circumstances, Ruto's regime has been pushed to demand that the Uhuru cartel pays all its arrears and faces a harsher crackdown on any impunity. While public banks, such as KCB and NBK, had to pay their full taxes during their merger, Uhuru's CBA was exempted of 350 million shillings due to its merger with NIC.
It's clear that an even playing field should be enforced in terms of taxes, regardless of size or affiliation. Otherwise, this sort of impunity will lead to even greater inequalities and disadvantages to citizens of the country.
To Kabando Wa Kabando and those uniting behind him, the President's answer to this conflict remains to be seen.
