If you are a parent you will understand that talent and creativity can take a child to places you never dreamed of. Children and youths have found news ways to solve problems that affect us on a daily basis.
Such a person is Kelvin Doe is a 13 year-old boy from Sierra Leone. At his young age, he has managed to build his own radio transmitter and generator. Passion drove him to make his own innovation.
Kelvin is 16 years old now. He has made his own battery from available materials such as scrap metal, acid and soda. He has solved a problem that many people in the region have been facing. Families are now able to get enough supply from his invented battery.
Kelvin has captured the hearts of many people including David Monina Sengeh who gave him a chance to compete at GMins Innovative Saline Idea Competition. He topped and received an award.
He has managed to participate in Visiting Practitioner's Program at MIT. Through the program, he got signed to a solar project named Canadian High Speed Service Provider.
Kelvin has been invited to several conferences and meetings to speak about his innovations. He has also met several influencers who ha e mentored him through his journey.
