On Monday, the Kenyan weatherman gave a 7-day forecast, warning of occasional morning rains and afternoon showers this week in several parts of the country.
According to Kenya Meteorological Department, the Highlands East of the Rift Valley, which includes Nairobi, are expected to experience cloudy mornings with occasional rains expected over a few places. Afternoon and evening showers are also likely to occur over few to several places. The showers mark the onset of rains in these areas.
Thunderstorms are likely to occur over several places within the Lake Victoria Basin, the Highlands West of the Rift Valley and the Central and South Rift Valley. A detailed forecast for the week is provided below.
Therefore, there's need to always carry your umbrella in the mornings to avoid being caught off guard by the occasional morning rains while going to work. Remember also to carry your rain coat and some clothes that will provide much needed warmth if the rains start pouring.
