Among the measures was the cessation of movement in and out of the five counties of Nairobi, Machakos, Nakuru, Kajiado and Kiambu. These counties were selected because they were considered disease infected area owing to the high Covid 19 positivity rate.
Police roadblocks have been put up at the various entry and exit points of the locked zone.
However, Kenyans have devised various means to navigate through the roadblocks. In a video captured at one of the exit points, Bodaboda operators can be seen engaging in cat and mouse games with the police as they help people cross over to the other side.
Some Kenyans can be seen walking past the roadblocks on foot through the nearby forests.
