The advent of android phones have made our work easier just like any other technology. But for us to continue reaping the benefits of android phones, we need to keep charging them and as well check on their capability to charge optimally.
Some android phones like OnePlus 9 Pro have fast charging whilst others have poor charging capacity despite them having a good charging system. This could be because they have an exhausted battery.
Let's look at some of the ways you can use to charge your phone faster without employing a fast phone charger.
Ensure your phone is turned off

When charging your phone, ensure it's turned off. This is because when it's turned on, some apps and actions will be operating in the background.
As they operate in the background, they'll tend to drain your battery as the phone charges. This would extend the charging period. So it's prudent to turn it off before you plug it into the charging cable.
The secondary merit to this is that it will allow the battery to charge uninterruptedly. To witness this, after switching your phone off and letting it to charge, you can turn it on after thirty minutes to see how optimal it has charged.
Use airplane mode
Switching on the airplane mode setting would guarantee that your phone charges faster as its not drained by running apps.
The activated airplane mode would do this by disabling wired technologies in your phone like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and cellular networks which otherwise would continue draining the battery even if it's charging.
To activate airplane mode, first drag down the top of your phone's screen to access the settings panel. Then press the airplane mode icon, from there you shall have activated the airplane mode.
Using the airplane mode would slash the charging time by around 25%. This is due to the fact that areas with poor signals tend to drain much phone battery as the phone navigates for network.

Charging your phone via a laptop, your inbuilt car charger or USB port is effective in itself. However, these practise prove to be slowest when it comes to phone charging since the most they can offer in terms of electric output is a mere 0.5 amps.
For this reason, it's better to charge your phone through the mains which gives much electric output hence leading to faster charging
Also, if you're constantly moving and can't access a mains plug most of the time, then go for best chargers that are portable or power banks. They're effective and can help charge your phone in record two hours.
Leave your phone alone
Lastly, don't develop the habit of browsing through your phone as it charges. Remember, any task you do on your phone will use some amount of battery hence make your phone to charge slowly.
It may not be easy especially if you're getting lots of notifications whilst charging. To effectively counteract this, you can set your phone not to show the notifications on the screen.
By keeping your phone cool

Too high temperatures are bad for your batteries when they charge since they tend to reduce your battery life.
Having that in mind, always ensure you keep your battery away from any heat source. The origin of the heat source could be from radiator or through a window opening. You can possibly reduce battery heating by doing away with the phone's outer casing if you can.
The high temperatures that aren't good for your battery life are of 40 degrees Celsius and above. They should always maintain a temperature of about 21 to 26 degrees Celsius while charging.
