Giant social media platforms including Facebook, What's app, Instagram and Twitter yesterday experienced a worldwide blackout for close to six hours. During that time, the social media platforms mostly owned by worlds fourth wealthiest man Mark Zuckerberg went down in what has now gone into history as black Monday.
Zuckerberg however delivered a personal apology in which he stated that he was sorry to the whole world for the inconvenience that was caused by the blackout. The tycoon acknowledged that most people around the globe rely heavily on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Whatsapp for communication with their loved ones.
However, a post downtime analysis has revealed that a whooping 99.5 million US dollars in revenue was lost during the blackout. This has translated to ksh 11 billion. The giant social media platforms have precipitated the American investor to one of the richest men in the world for some years now.
