Ezra Chiloba, the secretary General has put it clear that, not all Kenyans have to register their SIM cards again. Previously, Communication Authority of Kenya had directed had directed that all Sim card users to register their cards afresh. These include, Safarocom, Airtel and Telcom. Failure to which your sim will be disconnected from respective network.
The key reason why safaricom has decided to say that not all Kenyans are to update their lines, is because its customers can dial *106# and get their sim card status. Therefore not all have to visit their shops, agents and dealers. Only those who their status will direct them to do so.
This has been passed across via Safaricom by secretary general Ezra Chiloba. A photo below carries safaricom Twitter account with the news.
My opinion and thinking is that, this is the best safaricom could have done to help its customers. Therefore its customers have to take the opportunity and respond accordingly.
