You probably might have found yourself in a situation whereby you forgot your phone in the house in the morning and wished there could be some means of remotely switching it off to avoid having calls go unanswered. I'm going to walk you through a simple procedure on how you can remotely switch off your Android device using an SMS from another phone.
The method is very simple and and will only required you less than 10 minutes. All you need is to download the Remote Power Off application which comes in a zip file and follow the following procedure.
1. First, make sure that your mobile phone is rooted.
3. Install the application on your device.
4. Key in the current password that is null and then key in the new password and confirm. Click on change secret code.
5. You will be requested to grant superuser permission. Accept to proceed to the next page.
That's it! Now you will have a secret code which you can send remotely as an SMS using another phone to your mobile phone to switch it off!
