It is traumatizing to lose your hard-earned document be it a certificate or any kind of document. Today's world has gone the extra mile in improvising ways to keep your valuables in a safe place. In this article, I will show you how to keep your documents safe from natural calamities such as fire, floods, and shelf life.

To start with, you need to digitize all your documents. Digitizing a document means converting your papers into a digital format. You are required to convert documents into portable document formats (PDF).

How To Digitize A Document

To convert a document to PDF, you can use your smart mobile phone or a scanner that will save it with an extension named .pdf.Use applications that are available on the play store to achieve the goal. Once you are done with digitizing your documents, ensure that you save them. On your mobile phone, you can find the digitized document in a folder named documents. Now that you have digitized your document and save it, the most important part is the storage. Sometimes the phone may break or get lost. So, you won't trust the mobile phone to store the documents. Head on to the next step.

Secure Storage Of Documents

You need to open an email. An email (electronic mail) is a digital communication platform that is used for passing information. Anyone can possess an email. There are many types of email but you only require one for your storage.

To open an email, go to Chrome browser and type, "". This will lead you to an interface where you can fill in your details for authentication. When the process is complete, you will have a working email.

Send the digitized documents to your own email as shown in the following screenshot.

For this to work, you have to be connected to the internet. Finally, click the send button. Google will store your document in the cloud.

After successfully sending the documents to your own email, repeat the same process to send other documents that you may have digitized. Alternatively, you can attach many documents at the same time.

You can now access your documents at any time, and anywhere at your convenience. Take, for instance, you want your ID copy which you had earlier scanned and stored in your email. Open the email, navigate to the document, and download it. Print the document from a cyber cafe. You are done.
