Ugandan government has always featuring on headlines for limiting its citizens from using the internet for some time. During the presidential elections the government blocked the citizens of entire uganda from accessing the internet. Now the government has announced imposition of taxes on internet bundles, this has raised a discussion social media platforms where people claim that already smartphones have been taxed, the internet services have also been taxed why is the government trying to tax again on internet bundles?
We all know that in the current world, internet is among the basic requirements and even during this hard times of covid-19 pandemic most people who are working from home needs internet access so that they can continue working as normal and imposing tax on internet bundles will largely affect such people.
Yes it is true that people are using internet wrongly but that is not a good reason to limit others from accessing internet.
