Technology is currently to manage security challenges in most parts of the world. Introduction of cameras and video recorders has greatly supported security system in most urban and rural areas. Banditry has been a menace to pastoralist living in Rift Valley and Eastern region.

Today, Leaders from Kerio Valley together with security officials launched a tech machine called drone which will be used to track lost livestock. According to a post shared by Lemiso Sato Emmanuel on his Facebook account, Elgeiyo-marakwet County Governor Wesley Rotich with county Commissioner John Korir tested drones to be used for security surveillance at Tot Police Station, Endo Ward, Marakwet East. He said that this is set to end the banditry challenge in Kerio Valley.

The drone will be used by Police to record aerial photos and videos on the extensive tracks of lands in Kerio Valley incase of banditry attacks associated with cattle rustling.
