In a new move by the U.S government and YouTube, it has been decided that earnings made by YouTube content creators worldwide through views gained in the US shall be taxed. YouTube a company owned by Google, has been forwarding emails to their content creators, emphasizing on this move that is likely to be executed from as early as June this year.
Note that content creators across the world will be there taxed, but from earnings made from views in the US. The email that Google has been sending to its content creators include request for their tax details. The details are required to be submitted to Adsense in order to calculate appropriate amounts of taxes to be deducted from respective amounts of earnings.
Google has further warned that failure to submit the required details by may 31st 2021, it will deduct 24% of total world wide earnings. This is to urge its content creators to comply since this move will affect hundreds of thousands of its content creators.
