The Communication Authority of Kenya released a notice to communication companies including Safaricom, Airtel, and Telcom communication companies.
It gave the telecommunications companies the task of sending messages to their subscribers about the deadline set for Saturday, the 15th day of August 2022.
Many Kenyan subscribers thought that the deadline was a joke until millions of subscribers had their unregistered lines shut by today morning. Among them is a renowned City Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi a senior counsel who has taken to his Twitter account complaining about a shutdown of a line that he has used for decades.
Ahmednasir Abdullahi has vowed to change his communication company. Gabriel Oguda on the other hand has told Safaricom among other communications companies not to yield to alleged pressure and threats. He has claimed his lines were also shut down and he is a happy subscriber because he will not pay his fuliza loans.
What appeared like a joke many months ago has now come to pass.
