Millions of social media users will have to contend with being offline as communication channels, Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram crashed. The telecommunications companies have promised to restore services after issuing statements.
Details on what caused the hitch are yet to be known. Social media users went ahead to complain about the issue on Twitter as the three apps were inaccessible to them.
WhatsApp had this to say," we are aware that some people are experiencing issues with whatsapp at the moment. We're working to get things back to normal and will send an update here as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience "
Instagram said this, " Instagram and friends are having a little bit of a hard time right now and you maybe having issues using them. Bare with us , we're on it."
Facebook wrote, " we're aware that some people are having trouble accessing our apps and products. We're working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible and apologize for any inconvenience.
