The training is a two weeks virtual workshop conducted online due to covid-19 restriction; 50 journalist were engaged and the best five participants who cover the African dryland stories were to be given grants to continue further with their stories.
The training cover journalism training session ranging from field reporting,media analysis of dryland stories in Africa, and thematic training with experts from global landscape forum. The journalist were required to attend the session,publish 1-2 articles covering global landscape forum and work with climate tracker to publish their stories to an international publication.
The training which kicked off on 17th May will run till 10th June when the final result for the grants will be announced.
The climate tracker is also giving out opportunity to any journalist and freelance writer who work on African Dryland Stories; any person with such stories which is appealing and original will be given 150 euro for one publication which will be published in their website.
