5 Deadliest Serial Killers in History

A serial killer is someone who murders two or more people on separate occasions at different times. The following list explores 5 notorious serial killers known in American History.

Ted Bundy

Ted Bundy loved the attention he garnered from his murders due to his handsome looks. Many people especially in the United States were excited to give him that attention. Most of his murders involved college women from Washington, Oregon, and Utah to Colorado. Ted was once arrested in Colorado for kidnapping but he escaped to Florida where he murdered more people. Ted's final arrest captured the attention of America, as the accused killer acted as his lawyer. Bundy was executed in an electric chair in 1989.

John Wayne Gacy

Gacy was a construction worker involved in politics who acted as a clown during birthday parties. In 1978 he came under suspicion after a 15-year-old boy who was seen last with him went missing. It was the first time the police suspected him. After police searched his home, they found nearly 30 bodies buried in a four-foot crawl. Gacy was convicted of 33 murders, counts of torture, and rape cases. He was lethally injected in 1994.

Harold Shipman aka “Dr. Death"

Harold is believed to have murdered more than 220 patients. He worked in London I 1972-1998 where he continued his killing practices. He wasn’t caught until someone was surprised by several cremation practices Shipman was involved in and the fact that most murders were elderly women who died during the day. Shipman was convicted of murder in 2000 and killed himself in prison in 2004.

Pedro Lopez

One of the world’s deadliest serial killers might still be wondering out there. Pedro murdered more than 300 people in his native Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. He was arrested in 1980. After his arrest, police found more than 50 graves of his victims. In 1998, he was released from prison for good behavior and his whereabouts remain unknown.

Jeffrey Dahmer

Jeffrey Dahmer was referred to as the 'Milwaukee Butcher'. He murdered and raped 17 boys and men between 1978 and 1991. He was involved in acts of cannibalism where he kept the body parts of his victims in his apartment. In 1994 he was beaten to death by his fellow inmate.
