At first you might think that Esther Mahlangu is a typical old south African grandmother, but looks can be deceiving. She is an 81 years old woman from the Ndebele nation in South Africa that does high end mural art for houses and cars.
She was recently contracted by the German car maker giant BMW to decorate a 1991 artcar . The car was so impressive that it was viewed at the British museum on October 27th 2017.
Esther uses exotic and exceptional bold design to put traditional Graphitti works on cars and high end houses. Her work is known all over the world that in 9th April 2018 she received a honarary doctorate from the University of Johernesburg.
She was born on 11th November 1935 in Ndebele nation. She begun painting at the age of 10 years and was taught by her grandmother and mother to do Mural painting. Aside from her humble back ground, Esther has been commissioned by the Virginia Museum of fine arts to create 2 huge paintings for them. She has also been features by Forbes magazine.
