President Yoweri Museveni' s son, who is also serving the country as a military officer has announced his interest to meet the artist behind his viral painting. Muhoozi Kainerugaba made this communication to the members of the public through his Twitter account.
The military man is appealing to the netizens to help him trace the unknown talented artist. After the painting went viral on social media, the happy Muhoozi, a lieutenant general in the Uganda People' s Defence Force and commander of the Special Forces Group could not hide his joy after seeing " himself" drawn while in full military gear.
He then tweeted, " Still looking for the great artist who painted this beautiful portrait. I want to meet him or her. "
As the search continues, it is worth appreciating talents, most of whom have been negatively impacted with the outbreak of the Coronavirus. As the fight against the virus continues, many of the artists are currently struggling to provide for their families.
As a way of making a living, it could be remembered that in 2020, Kenyan pencil artist Collins Omondi Okello managed to capture the attention of the United States comedian and media sensation Steve Harvey through his work. Upon seeing Okello' s work, he sent his praises, noting that his talent was a representation of how a God- given gift looked like.
The drawing opened the doors for Okello to eventually meet the comedian. The duo met when Harvey was on a short visit to Africa, presenting him with his drawing.
According to the information, Harvey was to meet Okello again. Unfortunately that plan has been hindered by the Covid- 19 pandemic.
Nonetheless, the artist is still hopeful that things will work out as was planned. He reported that account to his last communication with Steve, he confirmed that his team would communicate to Okello on the way forward concerning their planned meeting.
Due to the complications caused by the Covid- 19, Okello added that it was just a matter of time before everything is finalized. It is only the confirmation that he is still waiting for.
