Panic In Nyahururu As A Famous Athlete Is Badly Attacked By A Hippopotamus

Residents of Nyahururu are living in fear after an athlete was attacked by a hippopotamus while training where he was left with bad injuries.

According to sources the athlete identified as Edwin Mokua, 28-year-old was training in an open field in the shores of river Ewaso while he was attacked by the hippopotamus.

Mokua was to leave the country on Wednesday night where he was to take part in lzmir marathon which will to be held in Turkey on Sunday.

Mokua was rescued by his fellow athlete identified as Denis Kipkosei, who was few meters ahead of him when he a group of hippopos grazing.

Mokua was rushed to a nearby hospital where he is nursing serious injuries. Denis went back to look for Mokua after realizing that he could not see him any where.

Nyahuru resident have asked KWS to fence the area so as to avoid a similar incident from happening.
