Police in Kakamega has launched investigations on circumstances under which 5 minors were put on family planning against their will by a stranger.
The girls, aged between 14 to 16 years old from Mwiyala village were allegedly lured by a community health worker under pretense that she would offer them free sanitary pads.Once they got to the health facility, the community health worker only identified as Getrude allegedly decided to insert birth control implants and the girls' arms.
However, one of the girls suffered compilications with her menstrual cycle which led her to open up to her parents on what "Getrude"had done to them, the parents then notified the other parents and together they filed complains at Lurambi police station.
Speaking to K24, Kakamega Central OCPD David Kabaeni said they would arrest the said culprit and once the doctor ascertain that the girls have been fitted with the said implants, then the community health worker will be arrained in court.
