In Kopiyo village, Kokwanyo East Sub location, Rachuonyo East sub-county a woman have been reported to have delivered a baby and later burying her at their cassava farm. Kokwanyo East Sub location Assistant Chief Don Odero confirmed the incident.
This is after the woman had an argument with the husband concerning her pregnancy. The husband who worked in kisumu and was away from home heard that the wife was pregnant. The man was shocked since he was away from to years and he didn't have any intimate connection with the wife during that period. The woman said the husband threatened her which led her kill her own baby.
After delivering the woman strangled the baby with a cloth and after burying the baby her brother in law became suspicious and informed his grandmother. After pushing the woman to tell them what had conspired she reviled what she had done and where she had buried the baby.
The baby was exhumed and the body reburied again and the woman ran away with her 3 children to her maternal home.
Upon arriving she heard that the authority were looking for her. she ran away again leaving her children behind.
