Information has been disclosed that a senior police officer was nabbed by detectives attached to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) for demanding a bribe.
He told the victim that he would use the money to travel to Kakamega in order to facilitate the services he requires from the regional offices as contained in the complainant's file.
Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) reported the matter to the police station and successfully recovered the amount if money that the inspector had obtained from the complainant.
Cases of bribery within the police service have always been on the rise despite the fact that Inspector General of police Hillary Mutyambai has been consistently against the vice.
