14 Year Old Linked to Alleged Murder of Pamoja FM's Journalist to Undergo Mental Check up

A 14 year old has been arrested after an alleged connection to the last week’s gruesome murder of Pamoja FM journalist, Mohammed Hassan Marjan while headed for his home from work.

According to the Nations' news, the Minor was arrested yesterday by the DCI after being positively identified through CCTV footage.

In a statement the DCI said that the suspect accousted the deceased, robbed him before stabbing him on the left side of the chest.

“In a group of four others, the suspect accosted the deceased, who was heading to his place after duty at the said radio station, violently robbed him in which process they stabbed him on the left side of the chest killing him instantly,”

Detectives further affirm that they were already in the process of pursuing three other suspects together with a woman who had been solacing them.

A week earlier another 19 year old Juma Mohammed was arrested after CCTV footage retrieved from a Control centre (Jogoo House) by the Kilimani Detectives and is suspected to be part of a six member gang who lynch the journalist and is being held for investigation for a nine day period as allowed by the Milimani law courts.

The 14 year old is expected to undertake a mental assessment after police told the Milimani law courts that the suspect had not been taken for mental assessment.

The deceased journalist is said to have met his death near the Kibera law courts, soon after his Islamic teaching night show. Soon after, irate members of the public conducted a man hunt that let to one suspect alleged to be linked to the attack and murder was lynched.

The deceased's belongings were recovered outside one of the house near the place he was murdered.
