Running Battles In Kericho As Residents Engage Police

Transport has been paralysed in Kericho- Nakuru highway after Residents demonstrate over negligence by Government to retrieve the body of a middle aged man five days after drowning in River Kedowa.

The protest has happen in a place known as Kedowa, 55 Km from Kericho Town. The Police have manage to calm down the situation. They have use teargas gansters to dispatch the irate crowds.

The alleged man drowned while trying to escape Forest Officers from arresting him.

River Kedowa is a tributary river that originates from Mau Forest. Mau Forest is the largest Rain indegeneou Forest in East Africa, part of it occupies Kericho County.

Mau Forest is a government property and whenever a person is found in the forest without permission from authority he or she is likely to be arrested. The forest area has some highest rainfall rates in Kenya. It is the largest drainage basin in the country.
