Homa Bay: Police Nab 24 Year-old Man Accused of Killing an Old Man Over Chang'aa at Drinking Den

Police have arrested a 24 year old man who allegedly killed a 41 year old man at a chang’aa den in Mirunda village, Kayanja sub location of Suba North constituency.

It is reported that James Awoir Yogi met a 41 year-old identified as Okeyo at a chang'aa drinking den where the engaged in a heated debate.

The two later engaged in a fist fight as other members watched the free action movie live since everyone was drunk and they just thought it was their normal marshall art.

It is at this time when Yogo allegedly hit Okeyo with blunt object on the head which killed him on the spot.

Few hours later, Yogo was heard boasting on how he taught the old man a lesson warning others of the same character that their time is coming.

Confirming incident to press Sub County Police Commander Charles Mwangi said that the suspect is being detained at Mbita Police Station for interrogation pending arraignment in court.

"The suspect is arrested the police are going on with interrogation ,before he is arraigned in the court," Mwangi said.

The body of Okeyo has been taken to Kirindo mortuary in Suba North constituency awaiting for a postmortem and preservation.

Authorities have asked members of the public to always report to the relevant authorities should they have ideological differences.

They further requested members to always intervene whenever there's a dispute between themselves to avoid murder cases amongst themselves.
