Residents of Ahero Village in Maili Tisa, Bahati sub-county in Nakuru were left shocked on Sunday after an elderly man in his late 60s was found murdered. The man identified as Peter Ndung’u Kinyanjui who is a well known resident in the area was found dumped. His head was thrown into a water tank while his body was dumped in a garbage pit.
According to residents, Kinyanjui was living with his 42 year old son who is currently the main suspect. The son identified as Samuel Kinyanjui is suspected of committing the murder due to his mental health problems.
Grace Wambui, a family relative informed K24 that the son missed this month’s health checkup because his clothes were dirty. This may have led to him committing the crime due to missing his periodic medicines.
Samuel Kinyanjui is still at large but police have set up a man hunt for him. The body of the man has been taken to nearby mortuary.
